ARRESTED: NOPD Apprehends Suspect in Attempted Disarming of Officer on Bourbon Street

The NOPD has arrested Shon Johnson (DOB: 01-25-1994), after Johnson allegedly attempted to disarm an NOPD officer on October 28, 2018 in the 700 block of Bourbon Street.

At about 4:23 a.m., Johnson allegedly attempted to remove an NOPD Eighth District officer’s service weapon from its holster. The officer was clad in full NOPD uniform and was easily recognizable as a uniformed officer at the time of the incident. While being read his Miranda rights, Johnson reportedly admitted to the offense.

Johnson was arrested for attempted disarming of a peace officer and booked accordingly to the Orleans Parish Justice Center. A booking photo of Johnson is not available at this time.
