Suspect Wanted for Burglary in Seventh District

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating Dwayne Robinson (DOB: 01/02/1967) who is wanted for two counts of simple burglary and one theft charge.

Seventh District officers responded to two separate incidents in the Tara Lane neighborhood. The first incident was reported on Tuesday, (Oct. 24) in the 6700 block of Tara Lane. The manager of the apartment complex told police about three weeks ago she observed Robinson inside the vehicle that belonged to the owner of the business. The owner of the vehicle did not notice anything missing when the incident first occurred, but a couple days later the owner realized the keys used for the coin holders that is attached to the washers and dryers were missing. She then noticed about $500 worth of quarters were taken from the machine.

The next incident happened on Wednesday, (Oct. 25) when the suspect took a $250 rug cleaning machine from the business. Later that day, a witness observed Robinson trying to sell the rug cleaning machine in the 6800 block of Tara Lane. The business manager went to retrieve the rug cleaning machine and the suspect fled the scene, leaving the machine behind. The rug cleaning machine was relocated to the business. The reporting person advised the NOPD that the machine was located within a locked room on the premises that could only be accessed with a key, which Robinson had possession of.

Anyone with more information about Robinson’s whereabouts is asked to contact any Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
