NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Villere Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Villere Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 1600 block of North Villere Street on Monday (Oct. 30).

At around 8:32 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced dead by EMS on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
