The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 300 block of LeBoeuf Street.
At around 7:17 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Upon arrival, officers observed a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
