Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery of Walmart on Chef Menteur

Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery of Walmart on Chef Menteur

The NOPD is looking for a suspect who robbed the Walmart on Chef Menteur Highway at gunpoint.

 

On October 15, 2016, at approximately 11:15 a.m., an unknown male was observed approaching the Customer Service Desk inside the Walmart at 4301 Chef Menteur. The cashier reported that the suspect claimed he had a gun and would shoot everyone behind the counter if she didn’t put the cash in a bag. The cashier gave him $4,886 in cash and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
