Suspect Wanted after Trying to Steal a Gun at Cash America

The NOPD is searching for a suspect who was seen on surveillance video trying to break a glass counter to retrieve a firearm at the Cash America Pawn shop.

The incident happened on October 6, 2016. Just before 5 p.m., an unknown man in his early 20s was seen entering the business in the 3000 block of Gentilly Boulevard. The suspect then inquired about purchasing a gun. When an employee told him he needed to get a ticket and wait in line. The suspect obtained a ticket and started waiting by the gun counter. Eventually, he was then seen pulling out an unknown object from his shorts and striking the glass case containing several guns. Once an employee confronted the suspect, he was then seen running out of the business then in an unknown location.
