An unknown black male armed with a black semi-automatic handgun robbed the Uptown Beauty store at 8244 South Claiborne Avenue today (Oct. 21), and the NOPD is asking for assistance in identifying and locating this suspect.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m., when the pictured subject entered the store and pointed the gun at the cashier, demanding the money from the register. The cashier complied, and the suspect fled the store heading northbound on Dante Street.
The suspect is identified as a black male, believed to be in his early 20s and standing about 5'7" with a thin build, dark skin and a very light or thin mustache.
