The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating and identifying two individuals wanted in connection with an armed robbery in the 8100 block of Olive Street. The incident occurred on October 13, 2016.
At about 9:30 p.m., the 22-year-old male victim was walking on Olive Street towards South Carrollton Avenue. At this time, two unknown suspects approached the victim, the first suspect stood in front of the victim and put a black gun to his neck while demanded his property. The second suspect stood behind the victim and placed an object, the victim believed to be a gun to his lower back. The suspects then snatched the victim’s backpack and cellphone. Both of the suspects then fled towards South Carrollton Avenue, then unknown.
The first suspect was described as a black male, about 25-years-old, tall with a thin build, dark complexion, with long dreads.
The Second suspect was described as a black male, about 19-20 years-old, medium build and height, with shoulder length dreads.
During the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance images of the first individual which can be seen below.

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
