NOPD Investigating a Shooting on Pauline Drive

The NOPD is investigating an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the 4700 block of Pauline Drive.

A little after noon today (Oct. 10), a 31-year-old male reported that he was sitting on the back of a truck when a Toyota Camry drove towards him. The passenger in the Camry rolled down his window and fired several shots at the victim, striking him in the buttocks and leg. The victim was taken to University medical Center via EMS.

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

In Louisiana, battery committed with a dangerous weapon is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $5,000, up to 10 years in prison, or both. The offender is also subject to special punishment under Louisiana’s firearm sentencing enhanced statute.
