NOPD Investigating a Murder on Pauger Street

NOPD Investigating a Murder on Pauger Street

The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a male victim, who appears to be about 18–19 years-old. The incident was reported around 9:12 p.m., near the intersection of Pauger and North Villere Streets.

Officers were called out to investigate a call of shots fired in the area. Shortly after, the call was changed to a male shot. Upon arrival officers found the unresponsive victim lying in the 2100 block of Pauger Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is on-going and detectives are investigating to determine a motive and a suspect(s) in the incident.

The Coroner's office will release the identity of the victim once his family is notified.
