NOPD needs the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in an armed robbery.
On September 11, 2016, at approximately 4 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the intersection of Adams and Hickory streets. The victim reported his wallet and phone were stolen at gunpoint.
Through further investigation, Johnny Byrd (DOB: 7/14/1996) was identified as one of the perpetrators and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Byrd is described as being 5’6” tall, weighing 182 pounds, with short hair or a shaved head. He has “Alive or Dead” with a picture of a fly tattooed across his forehead and “Why me?” over his right eyebrow. He is also known to wear glasses.

Armed Robbery
In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
