NOPD Fourth District Officers Arrest Suspect in Elder Abuse Investigation

The NOPD today (November 24, 2025) arrested Nona Burton (black female, DOB: 06-02-1960) in connection with an elder abuse incident reported in the 3900 block of Sullen Place, in the Fourth District.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., Fourth District officers responded to the 3900 block of Sullen Place for a requested wellness check. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple elderly individuals residing inside an unlicensed group home which was operating under poor living conditions.

As a result of the on-scene investigation, officers arrested Burton on five counts of cruelty to persons with infirmities.

Three of the victims were transported by EMS to a local hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment, while one victim was relocated to a separate medical facility and another had been previously transferred to a local hospital.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
