The NOPD has arrested Joshua Badon (black male, DOB: 10-21-1993) in its investigation of a homicide that occurred earlier today (November 3, 2025) in the 7000 block of Lawrence Road.

At about 3:29 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to the location to investigate a reported suicide. Upon arrival, officers located inside of an apartment an unresponsive adult male subject who had sustained a gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, detectives reclassified the incident as a homicide.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives positively identified Badon – who had been detained for questioning early in the investigation – as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on one count of second-degree murder. Badon was booked into the Orleans Justice Center accordingly.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and determine preliminary cause of death upon completion of autopsy.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
