NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in Rape Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Edward Budd (pictured, white male, DOB: 03-25-1980) in the ongoing investigation of a sexual assault that occurred on May 14, 2021 in the 1000 block of Cambronne Street.

The victim told police that she was sexually assaulted by Budd inside of his residence on the listed date, adding that she did not consent to sexual activity with the suspect.

Detectives have learned that Budd may be using the alias of “Eddie Ortega.”
