NOPD Investigating Homicide in First District

New Orleans - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (November 6, 2020) in the 2500 block of Canal Street. 

At about 12:30 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to the location, and upon arrival discovered an adult male suffering with a gunshot wound(s) in a parking lot.  EMS performed life saving measures and transported the victim to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. 

No additional details are available at this time.  The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Officer will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
