WANTED: NOPD Identifies Suspect in Armed Robbery on Lakeshore Drive

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Ariane McGuffey (DOB: 01-10-1999) in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive on Oct. 31, 2018.

At about 1:00 p.m., McGuffey and a yet-to-be identified male suspect allegedly forced their way into the victim’s apartment at gunpoint and then to his vehicle. The suspects then demanded the victim to drive to an ATM and withdraw money. The victim complied and, upon return to the victim’s apartment complex, the two suspects fled the scene in possession of cash and the victim’s iPhone in another vehicle, the pictured black four-door Chevrolet Malibu bearing temporary license tag number 08114T2.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Third District detectives positively identified McGuffey as the armed female perpetrator in this incident and obtained a warrant for her arrest. McGuffey is wanted for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted armed robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of second degree kidnapping.

The yet-to-be-identified male suspect is described as a black male standing approximately 5’8” and weighing about 145 pounds, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
