Vehicle Reported Stolen from Columbus Street

The NOPD is seeking to locate a vehicle reported as stolen from the 2500 block of Columbus Street on November 6, 2018.

At about 8:30 p.m., the victim was reportedly involved in an armed carjacking at the location while seated in his white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck, bearing Louisiana license plate #C780567. Two unknown subjects allegedly approached from the rear of the vehicle and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and fled the location on foot, abandoning his vehicle with the keys still in the ignition. A witness to the incident told police they observed the subjects enter the vehicle and drive away from the scene, heading south on Columbus Street.

A photo is included of a vehicle similar in color, year, make and model to the vehicle reported stolen in this incident.
