Suspect Sought by NOPD in Business Burglary on Lafayette Street

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect believed to be responsible for a business burglary that occurred on November 21, 2018 in the 1900 block of Lafayette Street.

At about 1:04 a.m., the above pictured subject allegedly used the two pieces of concrete in his hands to break the bottom portion of the entrance glass door to a business in the area. He then reportedly entered the business and kicked in several office doors, which were secured, and rummaged through desk drawers and file cabinets.

An employee of the business arrived for work later that morning and discovered his Apple iPhone 6 missing from his desk. There were no other items reported missing.

NOPD First District detectives feel the subject may also be responsible for several other business burglaries in the First District, which were close in proximity and used the same method of operation.

The unknown black male subject is wearing a black and white checkered long-sleeved shirt or jacket, dark colored jeans and black and white gloves.

Anyone with information on this incident and/or on the identity of the above pictured subject is asked to contact First District detectives at 504-658-6010, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
