Subject Wanted for Shoplifting on General Meyer Avenue

NOPD officers are searching for Edward Wix (DOB: 12/03/1952) after his alleged involvement in a shoplifting incident that occurred in the 4800 block of General Meyer Avenue.

The reporting person told police that on November 28, 2018, at or around 11:46 a.m., Wix entered the location and relocated to the rear of the store. Wix reportedly relocated to the front door exit, where he appeared to have several concealed items under his jacket.

An NOPD officer, who was at the location during the time of the incident, observed the subject attempting to exit the location with the concealed merchandise.

The officer detained the subject and shortly afterwards, Wix reportedly began to complain of chest pains and requested EMS.

EMS arrived on scene and transported Wix to an area hospital where he remained to receive treatment for his condition. Upon discharge, Wix will be arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he will be booked accordingly.
