NOPD VOWS Officers Arrests Suspect in Third District Shooting

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad today (November 20, 2018) arrested Jamesmon Jenkins (DOB: 05-21-1994), identified as the alleged perpetrator of a shooting incident that occurred on November 18 in the 5000 block of Old Gentilly Road.

At about 11:53 pm, the victim and her friend were reportedly involved in a verbal altercation with Jenkins outside of a location in the 5000 block of Old Gentilly Road. During the altercation, the above listed subject allegedly produced a black firearm, pointed it at the victims and fired multiple shots, striking both victims.

Through investigation, NOPD Third District officers were able to develop and positively identify Jenkins as the perpetrator in this incident and obtain a warrant for his arrest.

VOWS officers located Jenkins and arrested him without incident. Jenkins was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for two counts of attempted second degree murder.
