The NOPD is seeking the assistance of the public in locating and identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for an aggravated assault incident that occurred on November 19, 2018 in the 1800 block of Almonaster Avenue.

At about 8:15 a.m., the victim was standing at the front of the Family Dollar store where she is employed when she engaged in a confrontation with a male subject she believed had shoplifted from the business. At that time, the unknown subject approached the victim from the front and struck her twice to the right side of her face with a closed fist. The victim stated after being struck, the male subject pulled a black revolver handgun from the left side of his waistband and pointed the weapon towards her. The victim stated that upon observing the weapon, she turned her back towards the subject in fear of being shot. The subject then exited the business and fled southbound through the parking lot, then unknown.

The subject is described as a black male, between 40-45 years of age, standing about 5’6”-5’8” with a medium build, salt-and-pepper hair and beard, clad in a black Saints hooded sweatshirt, Russian-style hat and dark-colored pants. The subject has a very distinctive white or gray patch of hair at the top of his head.
