NOPD Discovers Wandering Child with Possible Special Needs in Sixth District

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating the parent or legal guardian of an unknown female, with possible special needs, who was found wandering in the Sixth District.

On November 3, 2018, at or around 10:50 a.m., Sixth District officers were dispatched to the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Freret Street to investigate a non-verbal black female who was wandering in the street.

The officers noticed the female was wearing a diaper and not responding to verbal conversations. Therefore, she was unable to give any information regarding her name or address. The individual has now been transported to the NOPD Child Abuse Office.

Anyone with any information that can help officers identify the individual’s legal guardian(s) is asked to contact the Child Abuse Office at 504-658-5267, or contact Sergeant Frank Robertson at 504-301-5869.
