Suspect Wanted by NOPD for Access Device Fraud

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Ashawtia Cormier (DOB 07-29-1996) in connection with an access device fraud incident that occurred on November 9, 2017 in the 1000 block of LeBeouf Street.

Detectives determined that Cormier, who was the caregiver for the victim, reportedly used the victim’s credit/debit card without the victim’s permission after accompanying the victim to a local store. Cormier allegedly took the victim’s card and used it later in the day. The victim’s financial institution later notified the victim of the transaction.

When located, Cormier will be arrested on a charge of access device fraud.
