Suspect Identified in Theft on Elder Street

Suspect Identified in Theft on Elder Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jherell Johnson (DOB 04-16-1998) in connection with a theft that occurred on November 9, 2017 in the 2600 block of Elder Street.

The victim told police that at about midnight, she heard her dog barking. Upon exiting the residence, the victim said, she observed three unknown black males in front of the residence in possession of the victim’s red Toro lawnmower and gray Toro weed trimmer. The victim told police that when the suspects saw her, they fled west on Elder Street toward Franklin Avenue.

The victim described the suspects as follows:

Suspect #1 – A black male with a thin build, standing about 5’4”

Suspect #2 – A black male, tall with dark skin and wearing a gray college sweatshirt and in possession of a black duffel bag.

Suspect #3 – A black male with a thin build, standing about 5’9” and wearing a gray sweatshirt.

During investigation, detectives were able to identify one of the suspects at Johnson and were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Johnson on a charge of theft.
