NOPD Searches for Subject Wanted in Armed Carjacking

The NOPD is seeking assistance with locating and identifying a suspect who is wanted for taking a beige 2001 Toyota van with a white front panel from the Fifth District.

The victim told police on Sunday, (Nov. 19) he arrived to his residence and parked his vehicle in front of his house at about 4:45 p.m. While sitting in the vehicle the victim was approached by an unknown male suspect who pointed a silver firearm towards the victim and demanded his vehicle. The victim left a cellphone and a power tool in the vehicle at the time of the carjacking.

The perpetrator in this incident  is described as a black male, dark complexion, light beard, narrow face, soft voice, about  5’06”-10” tall and 140 lbs. The perpetrator fled the scene in the stolen vehicle bearing Louisiana license plate #188AIC and headed west on St. Claude Avenue, then north on Jourdan Avenue and then in an unknown direction.
