Suspect Wanted for Theft after Stealing from Coworker

The NOPD is looking for Jasmarie Mays (DOB: 10-13-1995) after she was seen on surveillance video taking money from a coworker’s I.D. holder.

The incident happened today (Nov. 11). At around 8:38 a.m., the victim told police she was walking into the Walmart in the 4000 block of Behrman Place to work when she mistakenly dropped her I.D. holder pouch which contained $400 and her state I.D. Mays was working at the entrance of the store at the time and told the victim that someone returned her pouch, however, the victim’s money was missing.

Surveillance video captured Mays picking up the I.D. holder and then sliding the money in her pants pocket.

If you have any information on the location of Mays, please contact any Fourth District Property Crimes detective at 504-658-6040.

Citizens with information that can help solve a crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at  504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
