Suspect Wanted for Drug Law Violation in Connection with Shooting on Andry Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Lorenzo Henderson (DOB: 11-05-1992) in connection with a drug law violation that occurred as part of an investigation into an aggravated battery by shooting incident in the 700 block of Andry Street.

At about 9:35 p.m., an individual believed to be Henderson was involved in an aggravated battery by shooting incident which occurred in the area. During the course of this incident, multiple shots were fired from several different weapons on the scene. As a result of the gunfire, Henderson sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand. As investigation continued, Fifth District detectives learned the wanted subject was clad in a blue “Dickies” button-down shirt during this incident. While aid was being rendered to Henderson by EMS nearby in the 5300 block of Royal Street, Henderson’s shirt was removed and later, during inspection of Henderson’s shirt, a clear bag containing vegetable matter consistent with marijuana was located.
