Suspect Identified in Simple Burglary on Holiday Drive and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Aaron Franklin (DOB: 06-11-1982) in relation to a simple burglary in the 2700 block of Holiday Drive on November 14, 2016, and illegal possession of items stolen during the incident.

On November 15, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of a simple burglary in the area. The victim told police that on November 14, his neighbor informed him that an unknown male had exited the victim’s yard with a weed trimmer. The victim returned home and found his weed trimmer to be missing.

During the course of investigation, detectives found that the weed trimmer had been pawned at a pawn shop on Newton Street. A search of the pawn shop records, as well as surveillance video footage from the store, led police to identify Franklin as the person who pawned the trimmer.

When apprehended, Franklin will be charged with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Aaron Franklin is asked to contact Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
