Suspect Arrested for 2015 Algiers Murder

The NOPD today (November 12, 2016) booked Kareem Richards (DOB: 8/16/1995) in connection with the murder of Tokyo Palmer (DOB: 2/20/1997) in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive. The incident occurred on January 26, 2015.

At 7:45a.m., Fourth District Officers responded to a male shot.  When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported to the hospital where he later died.

During the course of the investigation, Richards was developed as a suspect through witness participation. Detective Ryan Aucoin was able to obtain an arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder.

Today, Richards turned himself in to the U.S. Marshals in the 3000 block of McAuthur Boulevard. Subsequently, he was released to the New Orleans Police Vows Unit and transported to the homicide office. He was then booked at Central Lockup.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
