NOPD Identifies Suspects, Person of Interest in Homicide on General Meyer Avenue

NOPD Identifies Suspects, Person of Interest in Homicide on General Meyer Avenue

The NOPD has obtained arrest warrants for two individuals believed to be responsible for a fatal shooting that occurred on October 8, 2016 in the 3300 block of General Meyer Avenue, as well as a person of interest in the incident.

At about 1:48 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to the area on an initial signal of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim being treated by EMS, as well as numerous spent bullet casings at the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Through the course of investigation, detectives were able to identify Ageeta Locure (DOB: 03-26-1977) and Ronnie Smith (DOB: 07-20-1994) as suspects in this incident. When located, each will be arrested on one count of second-degree murder.

Additionally, detectives are looking to speak with Tom Ledet (DOB not available) as a person of interest in regards to this incident. Ledet is not considered to be a suspect at this time, but detectives believe he may have information pertinent to the investigation.
