The NOPD continues to seek a second suspect in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on December 23, 2022, in the 700 block of Baronne Street.
Throughout the course of the investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives positively identified two individuals as the persons responsible for the homicide. One of the individuals, identified as Jabril Cowart, was arrested on a second-degree murder charge by the NOPD and U.S. Marshals in Houston, Texas on January 5. On January 6, the NOPD arrested a third individual, Dyamonique Smith, on accessory charges in connection with this incident.
The second suspect, pictured, remains at large and is sought by detectives.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
