The NOPD is investigating a hit-and-run traffic fatality that occurred on May 14, 2023, at the intersection of Canal Street and N. Rampart Street that left one person dead.

At about 5:33 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult male at the scene.
