Persons of Interest Sought for Questioning by NOPD in 2020 Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating two subjects sought for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on June 6, 2020, in the 500 block of South Dupre Street.

The incident, which occurred at about 4:09 a.m. on June 6, 2020, resulted in the victim being stabbed and pronounced deceased.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives have developed two subjects as persons of interest – a Hispanic male subject believed to be named Constantino Avila (pictured at left, Hispanic male, unknown DOB) and a subject believed to be named Jerry Ashman (pictured at right, black male, unknown DOB).

These two persons of interest are not wanted on criminal charges at this time in this investigation. However, detectives feel that the subjects may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview them.
