The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad today (May 5, 2022) arrested Armand Labranch (pictured, black male, DOB: 06-05-1964) on a murder charge in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on March 25, 2022, in the 3000 block of Eagle Street.
At about 7:37 p.m. on March 25, NOPD Second District officers responded to a reported aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive adult male gunshot wound victim. The subject was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was declared deceased.
On March 28, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim at 32-year-old Derwin Bernard.
Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Labranch as the perpetrator in this incident. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant on one count of second-degree murder.
Today, VOWS officers located Labranch and arrested him without incident. He was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
