NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a homicide that left an unknown man dead, a 25-year-old man dead, an unidentified man in critical condition, and three men in stable condition. The offense occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. in the 4800 block of Alcee Fortier Boulevard.

According to investigators, Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting, and upon their arrival, officers located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced the 25-year-old man dead on scene and the second victim died later at the hospital. A 29-year-old man, 33-year-old man, and a 57-year-old man were transported to a local hospital via private conveyance and currently listed in stable condition. An unidentified man also arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance and is currently listed in critical condition.

Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible and a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the deceased victims and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
