NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Wanted for Multiple Offenses

NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Wanted for Multiple Offenses

The NOPD's Violent Offender Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals, with assistance from the Kenner Police Department, today arrested Darran Boykins (pictured, black male, DOB: 11-13-1994), who had multiple arrest warrants in relation to four incidents under investigation by the NOPD. 

Investigations where Boykins was identified as a suspected perpetrator include:

  • An aggravated battery by shooting incident on April 25, 2021 in the 300 block of Bourbon Street, in the Eighth District. An arrest warrant was obtained for Darran Boykins on five counts of aggravated battery and a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A second suspect, Dorrell Boykins, has also been identified as a principle in this investigation and remains at large.   • An aggravated battery by shooting incident on April 24, 2021 in the 2100 block of Jackson Avenue, in the Sixth District. An arrest warrant was obtained for Boykins on two counts of attempted murder and one count of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to call NOPD Sixth District detectives at 504-658-6060.
  • An aggravated assault and kidnapping incident on March 25, 2021 in the 1500 block of Numa Street, in the Fourth District. An arrest warrant was obtained for Boykins on charges of aggravated second-degree kidnapping, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, simple kidnapping and battery on a dating partner. Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to call NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040.
  • An aggravated assault incident on March 20, 2021 in the 1700 block of North Tonti Street. An arrest warrant was obtained for Boykins on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Anyone with additional information on this incident can call NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010.

Boykins was located today in Kenner, La. and arrested without incident. He will be booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
