NOPD Seeking Person of Interest for Questioning in Eighth District Shooting

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a subject identified as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on May 9, 2021 in the 900 block of Canal Street that left two people injured.

Through investigation, NOPD Eighth District detectives have developed Malik Spencer (pictured, black male, DOB: 02-23-1998) as a person of interest in this investigation. Spencer is not currently wanted on criminal charges regarding this incident. However, detectives feel he has knowledge of information vital to this investigation and wish to question him.
