NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (May 6, 2021) at the intersection of Cindy Place at Wendy Lane.

Just before 2 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area. Shortly thereafter, a call was received of a subject down at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was declared deceased at the scene. At that time, NOPD's Homicide Unit assumed control of the investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
