The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred during the early morning hours today (May 15, 2021) at a yet-to-be determined location.
At about 1:50 a.m., an adult female victim with multiple gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance. The victim was later pronounced deceased, at which time NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the investigation.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information – including determining the location of occurrence – to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
