NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a double homicide that occurred today (May 11, 2021) in the 4200 block of Hamburg Street.
At around 7:12 a.m., NOPD Third District officers were notified that a body was found at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered two males, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, suffering with a gunshot wound(s). EMS pronounced them deceased at the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as motive. No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
