The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of one adult male right after 9 a.m. this morning (May 24) in the 1400 block of Tricou Street.
Fifth District officers responded to reports of a man down at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
