NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in First District Aggravated Battery by Cutting

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Raquel Dorsey (pictured, black female, DOB: 01-12-1985) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by cutting on May 24, 2021 on South Broad Avenue near Poydras Street.

The victim stated that at approximately 7:45 a.m., he was walking eastbound on the Broad Street overpass when pictured female subject approached him and the two engaged in a verbal altercation. The victim stated that the suspect then physically attacked him before she retrieved a small knife-like object and cut the victim multiple times. The victim sustained multiple lacerations to the head, face, and hand; all of which were deemed to be non-life threatening.

Through investigation, NOPD First District detectives positively identified the perpetrator as Dorsey and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of aggravated battery by cutting.
