NOPD Identifies Suspect in Fourth District Aggravated Assault

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Patrick Wright (pictured, DOB: 06-10-1972) in the investigation of an aggravated assault with a firearm that occurred on May 4, 2020 in the 3400 block of Garden Oaks Drive.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that at about 7:00 p.m., Wright was allegedly involved in a verbal altercation with Victim #1. Wright then reportedly brandished a handgun, held the weapon to the victim’s head and threatened to kill her. Victim #2 attempted to intervene, at which time Wright then allegedly pointed the gun at Victim #2’s face. Wright then reportedly walked away from the victims as he held the gun up and fired multiple shots into the air. He then allegedly fled the scene on foot.

When located, Wright will be arrested and booked with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count of illegal use of a weapon.

Anyone with information on this incident or on Wright’s whereabouts is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
