NOPD Arrests Suspect for Drug, Gun Possession in Seventh District

The NOPD arrested Tyrone Johnson (pictured, DOB: 02-03-1994) on April 28, 2020, after he was found to be in illegal possession of narcotics and a firearm.

During a traffic stop conducted by NOPD Seventh District Task Force officers, Johnosn was found to be in illegal possession of marijuana. A search warrant was obtained and executed on Johnson’s vehicle, where officers discovered a handgun, two grams of cocaine, eight grams of marijuana, 578 Xanax pills, and 71 Ecstasy pills.

Johnson was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics, flight from an officer, escape and possession of the aforementioned drugs with intent to distribute.
