NOPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting on Wagner Street

NOPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting on Wagner Street

The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that occurred this morning, May 1, 2019 near the intersection of Wagner and Slidell streets that left an adult male victim dead and a second adult male victim injured.

At about 1:16 a.m., Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the area. Both male victims were located outside and suffering from a gunshot wound(s). They were transported to an area hospital via EMS. One of the victims were later pronounced dead at the hospital. The second male was listed in stable condition.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the decedent’s official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
