NOPD officers have arrested Michael Lewis (DOB: 04/25/1994) after he was found in illegal possession of a firearm while in the Eighth District.
On May 27, 2019 around 12:18 p.m., Eighth District officers were patrolling in the 700 block of Bourbon Street when the officers reportedly noticed a distinct bulge on the subject’s waistband, which led officers to believe that the subject was in possession of a concealed firearm.
Upon further investigation, the subject was found to have a concealed black and silver Smith and Wesson handgun, which contained one magazine with 10 live rounds. Officers also confiscated an additional magazine containing nine rounds.
Lewis was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center where he was booked accordingly.
