Vehicle Wanted in Fatal Hit and Run Crash in Fourth District

Vehicle Wanted in Fatal Hit and Run Crash in Fourth District

The NOPD ‘s Fatality Unit is searching for a small silver SUV, possibly a Jeep brand model, believed to be responsible for a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on the Westbank Expressway near the Terry Parkway exit on April 1, 2018.

At about 2:50 a.m., the victim was walking along the roadway when he began to cross near the intersection of Westbank Expressway and Terry Parkway. At that time a small, silver SUV believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed struck the victim and drove away from the location, heading toward the City of Gretna. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.

The vehicle in question is also believed to have major front-end damage and possibly a shattered windshield and missing radio antenna.
