NOPD Searches for Suspect Wanted in Business Burglary

The NOPD is searching for the pictured subject who is wanted for burglarizing a Walgreens located in the 600 block of Decatur Street and removing several packs of cigarettes.

On Thursday, May 24, 2018 at or around 7:40 a.m., the assistant manager observed the subject inside the store putting cigarette packs into a backpack. The manager confronted the subject, at which time he fled the scene without paying for the merchandise.

During the investigation, officers learned that the subject gained entry to the business by removing a board that was placed over a portion of the front window, due to a separate burglary incident which occurred on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The subject reportedly stole approximately 50 packs of cigarettes from the business.

When located, the subject will be charged for business burglary, due to the unauthorized entry into the business prior to the business being open.

Anyone with any information that can help officers identify and locate the suspect wanted in this incident should contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
