NOPD Investigates Fifth District Carjacking Incident

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating and identifying a suspect who is wanted in connection with a carjacking incident that occurred at or around 9:29 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018.

The victim was traveling northbound on Alvar Street when he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Alvar Street and Almonaster Avenue. He then heard a deep male voice demanding him to get out of the car. The victim exited the vehicle, at which time the perpetrator demanded he empty his pockets. The victim complied and the subject fled the scene in his silver 2009 Infiniti FX35 SUV, bearing Louisiana license plate #471AZK. The vehicle has tinted windows and the driver side rear bumper is missing a piece.

The perpetrator was wearing a red shirt, black jeans and white shoes during the time of the incident.
