VOWS Unit Apprehends Two Adults, One Juvenile

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit has apprehended  three additional suspects within the past 24 hours. They are wanted for aggravated assault, battery and sexual battery.

 

David Burns (DOB: 2/17/1955) for sexual battery. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of Music Street, on April 18, 2017, and Burns was apprehended in the 100 block of Bourbon Street.

 

Rain Jackson (DOB: 10/29/1981) for two counts of aggravated battery by cutting and aggravated assault. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Napoleon Avenue on May 01, 2017. Jackson was apprehended in the 6900 block of Yorktown Drive.

 

VOWS also arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for simple battery. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Napoleon Avenue on May 01, 2017, and she was apprehended in the 6900 block of Yorktown Drive.

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
